As part of preparations for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, British enterprises have been advised to assess their business continuity policies.
This is the guidance issued by Steelhenge Consulting, which is involved in a series of projects connected with the international contest, including developing energy resilience strategies.
According to the Salisbury-based company's Director of Communications, Isobel Nicholas, firms both inside and outside the capital should focus on improving their operational resilience, while they still have time to do so.
"The impact of the Olympics will reach far beyond London with events at locations across the country," she cautioned, identifying potential disruptions as including staffing problems, absenteeism and transport difficulties.
Celebrations were held in a number of venues for the 2012 Games on July 27th to mark two years until the opening ceremony of the event, with the Olympic Delivery Authority declaring that work on the official site in east London is currently "on time and on budget".
