Rapiscan selected as security and systems supplier for London 2012

The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will have security specialist Rapiscan Systems UK as one of their suppliers.

As part of the agreement, the firm has also become a tier three sponsor of the event and will provide more than 2,000 screening and inspections systems for vehicles, baggage, parcels and people.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games has selected Rapiscan as its Official Security Equipment and Systems Supplier for the sporting contest.

Solutions will be provided by the company for each of the Olympic venues and the Olympic Village to safeguard staff, visitors and athletes.

President of Rapsican Systems, Ajay Mehta, declared: "Our security screening technology allows for both superior non-intrusive threat detection and extremely high throughput, so we will be able to not only improve security but also enhance visitor satisfaction."

Established in 1993 and a subsidiary of OSI Systems, Rapiscan has installed in excess of 70,000 products in over 100 nations around the world, including solutions for air cargo screening and automated explosive detection.
