Plans to provide online training for police, ambulance and fire workers in the UK ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games have been announced.
The National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) has unveiled the first of three internet packages aimed at providing personnel with additional preparedness for the potential challenges posed by the international sporting competition.
Security operations for the Olympics will be substantial, including the "largest ever peacetime policing operation", with officers required from all parts of the UK to cover the 34 venues hosting events, as well as the Torch Relay across the country.
Police, fire and ambulance services are the target of the 30-minute package, which is also expected to be made available to community groups, local authorities and other organizations concerned with the contest later this year.
"It is crucial that all emergency staff work together to ensure safety and security at the London Games and events linked to them around the country," said NPIA Chief Executive, Nick Gargan.
The Olympic Delivery Authority recently revealed the third venue in the Olympic Park in east London has been finished with the completion of the London 2012 Handball Arena.
