Effective security 'protects business continuity'

03 May 2011

Putting in place an effective security system can protect business continuity, one expert has declared.

Spokesman Adrian Platts of the Business Crime Reduction Centre (BCRC) has suggested solutions may provide assistance in guarding against disasters, potentially generating savings in the long-run.

Commenting on the cost of installing the technology, he explained it can be helpful in the long-run in reducing expenditure by pushing down insurance premiums and cutting spending as a result of crime.

According to Mr Platts, in addition to effective systems, security measures that are free to implement can also be adopted such as ensuring visitors are checked in and out of buildings, or removing climbing aids from premises.

The BCRC provides a range of advice, guidance and support to organizations operating in the Yorkshire and Humber region to assist them in reducing crime, including help on issues such as e-crime, electronic fraud and physical security.
