BCM World Conference in London 2009

The BCI would like to thank the delegates, exhibitors and speakers that contributed to a hugely successful event this week in London with guest speakers Bob Geldof KBE and City of London police commissioner Mike Bowron leading the way.
Bob Geldof’s engaging speech provided a remarkable insight into the mind of a successful entrepreneur. He related his own continuity story when Planet24 was caught up in the impact of the IRA bombs in the Docklands and the significant direct and indirect impact on people and finances when delivery of critical content (the Big Breakfast programme for the UK’s Channel 4 TV network) was disrupted. He also raised concerns that climate change resulting in mass population migration and greater resource scarcity in regions such as Africa would ensure the threat of terrorism would continue.
