2000 attend BCM event in Japan

2000 people attended the Japanese Business Continuity Management Conference & Expo 2008 which was held at the end of November in Tokyo. Platinum sponsors of the hugely successful event included, Marsh, BT, KPMG, IBM and BSI Management Systems Japan. The executive committee which organised the event was headed by Mr Watanabe, Professor of Nagoya Technical College, and Mr Shinohara, Head of the Business Continuity Institute in Japan.

Speakers included Mr Suzuki of BSI Japan who spoke about the results of a customer survey amongst BS 25999 certified customers, Mr Kurata of Fujitsu who presented a case study where a helicopter was used to take emergency equipment to a hospital in a BCM exercise and Mr Takagi of Kokuyo Furniture who described his company’s BCM testing procedures.
