Public Sector: From National Strategy to Local Delivery

The Civil Contingencies Act sets the expectation that certain public sector organisations will take responsibility for the promotion of BCM best practice to the business community. 

But, in practice, and with growing awareness of the importance of developing ever more resilient supplier networks, there is a clear interest amongst a far wider cross-section of public sector bodies to engage more closely with the private sector enterprises upon whom they depend. 

Also, in the course of their normal duties, both police and the fire & rescue services find themselves in the position of advising businesses of the value of adopting appropriate business continuity measures, often in the unfortunate aftermath of a particularly challenging disruptive event.
